A very good alternative to playing mp3 files in your browser or in the Windows Media Player is the program VLC Media Player, which is downloadable free of charge from the website:
It has the advantage that playback can be slowed down using the “-” key (more than once if you wish), and returned to normal using the “=” key. You can follow the instructions on John Fletcher’s site to download and save the mp3 files on your computer, or download and save from the DropBox link at top of this page, then you can choose to open with the VLC Player.
